This fellowship aims to promote research opportunities for unprivileged women in prehistoric and multidisciplinary studies. We encourage interdisciplinary approaches and financially support empirical research initiatives in India.
The Opportunity and Financial Support
The PALEOHER Ratna Fellowship provides a grant of ₹10,000. This funding may be used to cover research-related expenses, including travel, accommodation, field survey costs, or laboratory fees.
Recipients gain the chance to work on a postgraduate or early Ph.D. project through a crucial lab visit or field survey in India. The fellowship actively promotes skills development in fields such as quaternary research, palaeoanthropology, paleoclimate, ecology, archaeology, and related fields.
Who Should Apply? (Eligibility Highlights)
The fellowship is open to eligible candidates who meet the following requirements:
Gender and Nationality: Open to female candidates from South Asia.
Economic Status: Preference is given to applicants from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Proof of Economic Status (income certificate or other relevant documents) is required.
Academic Level: Applicants must be in a postgraduate or early Ph.D. program related to prehistoric research, archaeology, paleoclimate studies, ecology, or related fields.
Community Membership: Applicants must be registered members of the PALEOHER community.
What We Look For in Your Research Proposal
We seek proposals that demonstrate scientific understanding and clear objectives. Preference is given to proposals that emphasize fieldwork in India, laboratory analysis, or technical skill development.
Your proposal must have a significant component of prehistoric research and articulate how the fellowship will enable the achievement of specific research objectives. Proposals involving multidisciplinary studies are preferred.

2. Two Recommendation Letters (preferably from academic mentors or field professionals).
3. Proof of Economic Status.
