The 35th All India Shri Atma Vallabh Prakrit Learning and Teaching School

The Bhogilal Leherchand Institute of Indology, Delhi, is thrilled to announce the commencement of the 35th All India Shri Atma Vallabh Prakrit Learning and Teaching School, scheduled from 5th June to 3rd July 2024.

This one-month integrated course is thoughtfully designed to provide intensive training in Prakrit Language and Literature, catering to individuals with a profound interest in ancient languages and cultures.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must hold a minimum high Second Class Post Graduate Degree in Sanskrit, Prakrit, Pali, Hindi, Philosophy, Linguistics, or Ancient Indian History & Culture. Proficiency in reading and writing Devanagari Script, along with a robust command over both Hindi and English languages, is highly desirable.

Facilities Offered:

Participants will enjoy complimentary lodging on a shared basis and full boarding, featuring Jain cuisine before sunset, throughout the duration of the course. Additionally, study materials will be provided to facilitate comprehensive learning. However, it's important to note that the institute does not cover any medical expenses for participants.

Application Process:

Interested candidates are required to submit a duly filled application form along with a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/-. The fee can be remitted via draft, Multicity cheque, or directly transferred to the institute's bank account.

General Information:

Seats for the course are limited, and admission is granted based on merit. Participants are advised that the institute does not provide support for accompanying family members. Additionally, preference will be given to fresh candidates, with second-time admissions considered only after a hiatus of 5 years. The medium of instruction will predominantly be Hindi and English.

Schedule and Assessments:

Structured with the participants' learning needs in mind, the course encompasses two sessions of three hours each, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, respectively. Furthermore, library facilities and opportunities for interaction with esteemed faculty members will be available from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Periodical tests, including topic-wise assessments and a final test comprising viva-voce, will be conducted with prior notification.

Certificates:

Upon successful completion of the course and satisfactory performance in both oral and written assessments, participants will be awarded certificates as a testament to their dedication and proficiency.

Application Deadline:

The last date for the submission of applications is 30th April 2024. Applicants will be promptly informed of the status of their application once decisions have been made.
