School of Archival Studies Invites Applications for the Course in Archives Management - 2026

The School of Archival Studies, under the National Archives of India, is now accepting applications for its upcoming 44th Short Term Certificate Course in “Archives Management”. This program is scheduled to take place from 2 February 2026 to 13 March 2026.


Course Objective and Curriculum

The primary objective of this session is to provide trainees with comprehensive knowledge regarding the acquisition, arrangement, upkeep, and retrieval of records. It is designed to equip participants with the essential skills required for professional record management.


Eligibility and Age Requirements

Candidates interested in applying must be graduates from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.


  • Private Candidates: Must be below 30 years of age.

  • Sponsored Candidates: Must be below 50 years of age.

  • Reservations: Provisions for SC/ST/OBC and persons with special abilities are available for private candidates according to Government of India norms.

Fee Structure

  • Application Fee: A fee of Rs. 100/- must be submitted via Indian Postal Order (IPO), Demand Draft, or Bankers Cheque, made payable to the Director General of Archives, National Archives of India, New Delhi.

  • Course Fee: A non-refundable fee of Rs. 300/- is required at the time of admission.

How to Apply

Prospective students must apply using the prescribed proforma, which can be downloaded from the "What's New" section of the official website. There is no provision for online fee payment or online form submission.

Completed applications, including self-attested copies of educational, age, and caste certificates, should be sent to: The Director General of Archives, National Archives of India, Janpath, New Delhi-110001.

The last date for the receipt of applications is 09 January 2026.

Applicants currently employed in Central/State Government or PSUs must apply through the proper channel. Please note that the School does not provide boarding or lodging facilities.
