For the community of archaeology, conservation students, and heritage professionals at Inarch Center, staying updated on specialized training is key to career growth. We are pleased to share an upcoming professional development opportunity organized by The Gyan Bharatam (an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India) in collaboration with the University of Patanjali.

This intensive Five-Day Workshop-cum-Training Programme focuses on the scientific preservation of manuscripts, a critical skill for anyone working with India’s vast heritage legacy.

Preserving the Intellectual Legacy of India

Manuscripts are fragile carriers of cultural and historical knowledge. To prevent their deterioration, they require specialized scientific care. This workshop aims to create awareness about manuscript conservation and provide hands-on training in preventive and remedial conservation techniques.

What the Programme Offers

The workshop is structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and essential practical experience:

  • Preventive & Remedial Conservation: Learn the methods used to safeguard manuscripts from environmental and physical damage.

  • Scientific Handling: Training in the latest techniques for the storage, handling, and maintenance of delicate documents.

  • Case Studies: Real-world examples of manuscript preservation to understand the challenges and solutions in the field.

  • Certification: Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation during the Valedictory Session on the final day.
