BHU ICSSR Project Staff Recruitment Advertisement - 2026

Banaras Hindu University seeks project staff for an ICSSR-funded study on Northeast India’s tribal culture. Vacancies include Research Associate, Assistant, and Field Investigator. Applicants must submit materials by February 15, 2026, to the Faculty of Social Sciences.


The project is titled “A Sociological Study of Traditional Medicinal Practices, Folk Arts and Cultural Expressions in Northeast India’s Tribal Communities with Emphasis on Panch Parivartan”

Qualifications

Research Associate (1)

Rs. 47,000/-

Post graduate in any social science discipline (minimum 55% marks) with NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D. and 2 years research experience as a Research Assistant in any Project.

Research Assistant (1)

Rs. 37,000/-

Post graduate in any social science discipline (minimum 55% marks) with NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D..

Field Investigator (3)

Rs. 20,000/-

Post graduate in any social science/science discipline with minimum 55% marks.

Submission Process: You have to write an application to the Project Coordinator, Dr. Sharad Dhar Sharma, and send it to the address mentioned in the advertisement via Speed Post, along with all your academic documents (10th, 12th, UG, PG, and work experience letters, if any).

 Deadline: The application must reach the coordinator on or before 15th February 2026.

Selection: Staff will be selected based on the recommendations of a Selection Committee, approved by the competent authority of BHU.


Interviews: If you are called for an interview, please note that no TA/DA (Travel Allowance/Dearness Allowance) will be paid.
