Admissions Open for Diploma Courses in Archaeology and Heritage Management at Deccan College – 2026

Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, a premier institution in Pune established in 1821, invites applications for two specialized one-year diploma programs for the 2026 academic session. These courses are designed to keep pace with modern trends in archaeological research and the preservation of India's cultural heritage.


1. Diploma in Heritage Site Management and Scientific Conservation

Objective:

This course aims to train individuals to identify the cultural significance of monuments, analyze causes of decay, and plan for the scientific conservation of heritage structures.

Syllabus:

The curriculum covers Introduction to Heritage, Heritage Legislation and Policy, Cultural Heritage Management, Art and Material Conservation, and includes a dissertation and placement with heritage professionals.

Course Fee:

Rs. 25,000 - 30,000

Schedule:

Classes are held on Saturday and Sunday.

2. Diploma in Underwater Archaeology

Collaboration:

This program is offered in collaboration with the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa.

Objective:

It provides a detailed understanding of techniques for marine archaeological surveys, underwater documentation, and the preservation of submerged cultural resources like shipwrecks and submerged cities.

Course Fee:

8,500 - 15000

Schedule:

Classes are held on Saturday and Sunday.

Deadline:

15 January 2026.

How to Apply


Interested candidates can download the application form from the official university website at www.dcpune.ac.in or obtain it from the institute's account section during office hours.


A registration fee of Rs. 500 is required. Completed forms, along with attested educational certificates, should be submitted to the University office, as admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
