Nālandā University Opens 2026 Admissions for Archaeology and Heritage Courses - Online

The opportunity to study at a globally renowned center of heritage and learning has arrived. Nālandā University has officially announced the opening of admissions for its Spring 2026 Short-Term Programmes, which will run from January to June 2026. For scholars, enthusiasts, and students of history, these courses provide a gateway into the archaeological and cultural depth of one of the world's most significant ancient civilizations.


Specialized Courses in Archaeology and Heritage

The School of Historical Studies is offering two intensive online capsule courses specifically designed for those interested in the material and historical legacy of the region:

  • Archaeology of Nālandā Mahavihara Region: This 1.5-month course explores the physical remains and archaeological context of the historic Nālandā site. To know more and apply click here

Building a Foundation in Heritage Studies

To complement archaeological research, the university also offers online certificate programs in ancient and classical languages, including Sanskrit, Pali, Tibetan, Greek, and Persian. These linguistic tools are essential for any researcher looking to engage directly with historical manuscripts and inscriptions. Additionally, the School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy & Comparative Religions offers semester-long courses such as "Nālandā Masters: Philosophy and the Art of Debate" to provide deeper cultural context.


Essential Program Information

  • Mode of Learning: These heritage-focused courses are conducted in Online Mode, making them accessible to a global audience.

  • Affordability: The course fee for these programs is exceptionally accessible at INR 3000 only.

  • Eligibility: The minimum requirement for most of these short-term programs is a 12th Pass/Intermediate/10+2 qualification.

Key Deadline: Prospective students must submit their applications by December 31, 2025.

How to Apply

Interested individuals can apply directly through the Nālandā University Online Application Portal. If the online portal is unavailable, applicants may download the PDF application form from the university website and submit it via email to admissions-stp@nalandauniv.edu.in.
