National Museum, New Delhi is hiring six Consultants

The National Museum, Ministry of Culture, has opened applications for 6 Consultant posts to work across its galleries and the upcoming Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum (YYBM) in New Delhi. The engagement is on a contract basis, and it's a solid opportunity for researchers and museum professionals looking to work directly with national collections.

Positions for 6 Consultants

1. Consultancy fee ₹90,000 per month, consolidated (no DA, HRA or Transport Allowance)

2. Tenure Six months to start, extendable up to two years depending on performance

3. Age limit Not exceeding 50 years as on the last date of receipt of applications

Who can apply

1. A Master's degree from a recognised university in any of the following:

   Museology, History of Art, Numismatics, Epigraphy, Palaeography, Painting, Pali, Sanskrit, Indian History, Ancient Indian History, Archaeology & Culture, Fine Art, or Buddhist Art.

   
   

2. Candidates need at least five years of post-qualification experience in research content development or museum curation, along with strong communication skills in English and comfort working with current software tools. A Ph.D., published research, or prior museum/exhibition-planning experience will count in your favour.

What the role involves

Selected consultants will work on research, documentation, cataloguing and interpretation of museum collections, help to shape gallery concepts, exhibition scripts and educational content, support gallery upgradation projects and coordinate with conservators, architects, designers and other agencies as the museum and YYBM expand. There’s also a digitization and collection management component to the work.
