Job Title: Museum Curator
Location: HEH The Nizam’s Museum, Hyderabad, India
Reports To: Honorary Secretary of The Nizams Museum
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000 per month
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preservation, documentation, exhibition, and promotion of the museum's collection
- Organize exhibitions, educational programs, and fundraising activities
- Conduct daily inventory checks and ensure proper documentation of artifacts
- Supervise conservation, restoration, and maintenance of museum articles and environment
- Develop and implement thematic exhibitions and displays
- Collaborate with local educational institutions and promote the museum's educational potential
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to the museum's collection
- Supervise documentation and cataloging efforts
- Support staff in providing factual information during guided tours and educational programs
Qualifications:
- Post-Graduate degree in Museology, History, Art History, or a related field
- Diploma in Oriental Languages (Arabic/Persian) or P.G. Diploma in Museology
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a curatorial or similar role
- Proven experience in organizing exhibitions, seminars, and educational activities
- Experience in conservation and restoration of artifacts
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of museology norms and practices
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in languages, particularly Urdu and Persian
- Ability to use museum management software and digital tools
