UPSC announces Recruitment for the post of Deputy Superintending Archaeological Architect in the Archaeological Survey of India

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications for the position of Deputy Superintending Archaeological Architect at the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). This is a unique and historic opportunity, marking the first time the ASI is recruiting Architects through the UPSC.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a recognized University or institution.

  • Registration as an Architect with the Council of Architecture under the Architects Act, 1972.

  • Three years of experience in the Design and construction of buildings and execution of civil works.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master of Architecture from a recognized University or Institute.

  • Master of Arts (Architectural Conservation or Building Conservation) from a recognized University or institute.

Duties Include:


Assisting the Director (Conservation) and Director (World Heritage) in various tasks related to conservation plans, site management, design reviews, DPRs, estimates, nomination dossiers, and other assigned duties.

Nature of Post: Permanent, General Central Service Group- “A” Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.

Headquarters: 


New Delhi, with the possibility of serving anywhere in India.
