IGRMS Post Graduate Diploma in Museology Admission, Madhya Pradesh, 2026-2027

The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya in Bhopal offers a one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Museology designed to train the next generation of museum professionals. Affiliated with a central university, the program focuses on providing specialized education in art, culture, and history through two intensive semesters. Prospective students must pass a merit-based entrance exam and can expect a curriculum approved by academic experts. Since its inception in 2019, this initiative has aimed to bolster the workforce within the museum sector by combining academic rigor with practical campus training. Successful candidates receive their certification only after meeting strict attendance requirements and passing comprehensive examinations.

  • Eligibility Entrance Test conducted in hybrid mode

  • Advertisement published on IGRMS social media and newspapers (June-August)

  • Selection based on merit in entrance test

  • Reservation as per IGNTU and Government of India norms

  • Course Fee: ₹20,000/- + ₹1,000/- (Refundable Caution Money)

  • Payable in two instalments of ₹10,000/-


Affiliation - IGRMS X IGNTU

The One-Year Post Graduate Diploma in Museology is organized at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) in Bhopal and is affiliated with the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) in Amarkantak, which is a Central University.


Furthermore, the course is monitored and run in consultation with the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) and the Board of Studies (BoS) of the Department of Museology at IGNTU, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IGRMS and IGNTU.


Intake of students

The total intake of students for the PG Diploma in Museology is initially set at 20 seats. The reservation for these seats follows the norms and policies of the Government of India and Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU).


Eligibility criteria for the program

To be eligible for the Post Graduate Diploma in Museology, candidates must have completed their graduation in any stream from a UGC-recognized Indian or foreign university (as per the AIU foreign equivalence list).


Candidates must also meet the following minimum mark requirements:

  • 50% aggregate for General and OBC categories.

  • 45% aggregate for SC, ST, and EWS categories.


For the selection process, eligible candidates must take an entrance test, which is conducted in a hybrid mode, and selection is based on merit . A personal interaction may also be required . For in-service or sponsored candidates, the selection is conducted solely through an interview .
