Admission Notification for 2024 Cycle - Indian Institute of Heritage

The Indian Institute of Heritage announces the opening of applications for the 2024 admission cycle for the following M.A. courses:

M.A. (History of Art)

M.A. (Art Conservation)

M.A. (Museology)

M.A. (Archaeology)

M.A. (Palaeography, Epigraphy & Numismatics)

Eligibility Criteria

M.A. (History of Art):

Graduate Degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks.

Desirable: Background in Social Sciences, Liberal Arts, or Fine Arts.

M.A. (Art Conservation):

Graduate degree in Pure/Applied Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, or Humanities with a minimum of 50% marks.

10+2/Senior Secondary/Intermediate level schooling in Science Stream.

M.A. (Museology):

Graduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline of Science, Social Science, or Humanities.

Desirable: Background/PG Diploma in History of Art and Museum studies.

M.A. (Archaeology):

Graduate/Postgraduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in relevant subjects such as History, Archaeology, Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Sanskrit, Pali, Buddhist Studies, Prakrit, Jain Studies, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Anthropology, History of Art, Museology, Art Conservation, Palaeography, Epigraphy, and Numismatics.

M.A. (Palaeography, Epigraphy & Numismatics):

Graduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in relevant subjects.

Desirable: Knowledge of one Classical/Foreign language such as Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Persian, Arabic, Greek, Latin, German, French, Italian, other than mother tongue.

Eligibility for In-Service Personnel:

In-service personnel with at least 5 years of regular service and the required qualifications are eligible to apply.

M.A. (History of Art): 25

M.A. (Art Conservation): 15

M.A. (Museology): 15

M.A. (Archaeology): 15

M.A. (Palaeography, Epigraphy & Numismatics): 15

(Reservation of seats as per Govt. of India rules)

Admission Procedure

Written test of one hour duration followed by personal interaction (50 marks each). Application form and Official Notification
